Plenty of free time to spend on hobbies and things we enjoy or just the time to relax with friends and family. With all this free time and change of routines it can be easy to become complacent when it comes to our personal safety.
We at RESOLVEit believe everyone has the right to feel safe at all times. We have put together some tips to help keep you and your family safe.
Always let someone know where you are going, what time you’ll be home-if your plans change tell them.
Going out? Make sure you know how you’re getting home, keep some extra money (hidden) for emergencies.
In a hurry, tired? Thinking of taking a shortcut? Don’t - stick to the main route, it’s safer well lit you can be aware of your surroundings and avoid any dangers.
It’s a good idea regardless of your age to know a phone number for someone you could get hold of in case of an emergency- what if your phone battery ran out
Social media-Make sure your social media accounts are private and be mindful of what you post. You don’t know who else can see your post. If someone you don’t know contacts you tell a trusted adult immediately.
Online gaming - Play games for your age group. If someone you don’t know contacts you online or joins your game. Tell a trusted adult immediately - you don’t know the true identity or the intentions of the individual. Telling parents/guardians is a way to keep yourself and others safe.
Have a great break!
